Hi, 70% EQ after priapism

Postby willypriapism » Sat Oct 10, 2026 1:46 pm

To make a long story short, I had a bicycle accident and ended up in the operating room with priapism.

Some time has passed, so it’s clear this isn't going to improve on its own. I saw a urologist and was prescribed 5mg Cialis for two months; I improved to about 75% at best. Next week, I’m having a dynamic Doppler ultrasound.

I’m praying to God that it turns out to be venous leak rather than fibrosis. In fact, I’ve tried having sex, and by squeezing the base of my penis hard with my hand, I can achieve an erection in the other half.

It’s frustrating, but I’m holding onto what the AI told me: the fact that it gets rigid with manual constriction might mean the issue is primarily venous leak.

Now, for the questions that are eating away at me:

1) If I end up needing an implant, is it possible to preserve tissue without turning into a 100% bionic man? Is this something only high-volume surgeons can do?

2) Has anyone been through a similar situation? What was the outcome? I read that with mild fibrosis, the implant doesn't result in as much size loss.

3) I’m thinking about using a traction device and a VED (vacuum erection device) to gain a centimeter or so before the surgery. Honestly, I don't think I can recover that missing 30% of erection quality, so I’m mentally preparing myself to face the situation once and for all. It’s a shame to end up with an implant over a 30-25% deficit.

Anyway, this turned into a long post—sorry about that lol. Best wishes and stay strong, everyone.

No. The implant replaces the tissue in your corpora cavernosa. You will likely still get blood engorgement outside your cavernosa, however, to the extent you can currently.

Implants don’t result in size loss as compared to your immediate pre-implant erect length, as measured using an erection induced by intercavernous erection.

I think the question is whether the loss of “erection quality” is a shrinking of your cavernosa, or just inability to adequately fill it with blood. Generally, using a VED prior to implant is a good idea to make sure the cavernosa is as pliable as possible.

Best of luck!
Born 1974. Implanted 5/21/2024. AMS 700 CX 21cm, 3cm RTE. Penoscrotal. Venous leak my whole life. Pills helped, but hated the side effects; worked less as I aged. Skipped injections. Grateful to bionic brotherhood that helped me make this decision.
