Hotel accommodations - Manhattan

So I see the Gardens Sonesta mentioned for its proximity to the hospital and Dr. Eid.

But I see they don't have a kitchen... So while each room has a kitchenette, there is no real 'room service' or breakfast in the hotel.

If you're staying in the hotel for days at a time and not wanting to move much... Well it got me thinking that maybe there are other places people are staying that have more full-service offerings for those traveling alone?

I stayed there for 1 night. Its literally across the street from the front door of hospital. Really convenient. My room had a kitchen. Big fridge and stove too. What about doordash if you don’t get a room with kitchen. Your likely not gonna wanna cook

Yeah - I'm just not sure of their policy on deliveries. Like they aren't likely to allow delivery straight to the room. Their website lists 'room service' partnerships with 4 local restaurants. I could do that but my guess is it is a lot more costly than typical delivery.

There is a supermarket just down the street I could pre-buy some prepared foods. But posted here hoping for more insight. Thank you for sharing your experience.

How long you staying? Why not bring prepared meals that you can just reheat in the microwave?

I live in NYC. There are a million options for delivery. Uber Eats or Grub Hub are the best known, but virtually every restaurant and deli with a grill will deliver.

That hotel has tons of patients stay there. (I’ve never stayed there but have been twice to do a show and tell with FT guys coming to town for implant.). There is no way they would keep a delivery person from taking food to your door. Just telling the front desk, “I just had surgery. I’m on bedrest and in too much pain to come downstairs.” They will either let the delivery person come up or they will bring it up.

I wouldn’t let this concern keep you from staying there.

Anyone can just walk in and go to a room. Getting food wont be an issue. But your gonna want really easy meals the first few days. Like doordash or something you just toss in microwave
