Mostly just physical/sexual side effects. I was depressed and anxious because of those sides.
My penis literally mutated when I took dutasteride. The erectile dysfunction was getting worse and worse for 3 months but I just kept ignoring it, until one night while trying desperately to jerk off with a semi-erection I heard and felt a popping sensation in my penis. It was game over from there. The next day when I undressed I noticed my penis was shrivelled, cold, unresponsive and totally impotent. It was terrifying. I had never seen it so shriveled before and it felt numb. I started pulling it but it wouldn't work.
I quit taking dutataseride and weeks later after trying so hard to stimulate erections every day I finally started getting semis again but could never sustain a normal erection again, and my flacid was permanently changed too. The flacid looked different and felt awful. I would describe it as sort of feeling like some of the tissue inside had been scooped out of it, like it sort of felt light, skinny, stretchy and insubstantial. It really was bizarre. The penis was mutated, vandalised, physically destroyed.
I did tons of research and from my research, and from talking to other people on the internet, I formed the theory that dutasteride destroyed the tissue inside my penis, I believe it transformed some of the smooth muscle tissue into collagen. I recall the left and side beside the base of my penis was the most badly effected, that's where it felt the most hollow and strange - both flacid and erect, while the tissue in the upper half of my penis beneath the glans sort of remained more normal.
My concern now would be taking dutasteride and it causing the remaining tissue to mutate, leading to erosion or internal scarring or something like that.
I was on 0.5mg dutasteride 5 days a week for 3 months when this disaster happened. However I'm wondering now would it be safe to take it just 2 or 3 days a week and when I notice my semen running low, maybe get off it, and maybe that cautious approach could avoid any further problems. I'm not sure though.
I'm on finasteride 3 days a week now but I don't feel it's strong enough for my hair loss.
