Nobody wants to give up size when a lot of our sexual culture is built around it for men.
It also depends on starting size. If you have an 8" penis and lose an inch, you're at 7" and still well above average. If you're at 5" and lose an inch that is 20% loss and takes you from slightly below average to significantly so.
Luckily with a good surgeon, good preparation, and diligent post-op cycling, loss of size is rarely necessary. But I don't think you can just say "don't worry about it" without context for the individual case.

I agree guys shouldn't worry about size. But your comment makes it seem that they should be ok with a shorter dick post-implant. But the data pretty consistently shows that almost all guys get back to their pre-implant size after a few months, though in some cases up to a year or two. There are some edge cases that don’t, but you can avoid that with a decent doc.
So you shouldn’t worry because in all likelihood you will eventually be the same size, if as Elbow says you have a decent doc and cycle after implantation.

Born 1974. Implanted 5/21/2024. AMS 700 CX 21cm, 3cm RTE. Penoscrotal. Venous leak my whole life. Pills helped, but hated the side effects; worked less as I aged. Skipped injections. Grateful to bionic brotherhood that helped me make this decision.

Re: people shoudnt worry about size
Yea right. I remember how on FB there was a guy who after the surgery ended up with 6.5cm (2.5") size. In the UK I think. I remember myself thinking why are you worrying man - you got a dick and it's hard, much harder than it's been in a while! Who cares if you can't penetrate your GF because it's not long enough to get there! You still got it. Enjoy it bro! Don't worry be happy!
Poor guy. The guy was freaking out like there is no tomorrow. He couldn't reach his GF. You better worry about your length! If you don't bother your doctor about your length they'd be singing this song about you some day https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jfywY9Mx-dI
Do you really want that?
I actually think this should be a mandatory clip as a part of curriculum in every learning facility that teaches doctors how to become penile implanters. Sort of a part of their sensitivity training of sorts, so they'd always keep in mind what's really important.
I interviewed an implanter about 8 months ago who by his own description was a pretty high volume. He was chief implanter for one of the highest rated medical facilities in the country, forever top 10 in all ratings. He only implanted AMS implants and said that more often than not his post-ops end up shorter than they were pre-op. No, not immediately post-op. He was talking in the long run. How can you consistently implant LGX and consistently end up with a shorter post-op size?!
At some point during our conversation I remember how he threw his hands up in dismay and exclaimed: "I don't understand what's this obsession with length is all about!" I barely was able to bit my tongue half way through me saying: "Wellcome ye'traveller! Our planet is called Earth!"
His poor patients. He is a no hitter here on FT and on Reddit for a reason.
If you're too short you wouldn't be able to have sex. Period, full stop. On the practical level, at some shorter sizes certain common positions would become physically unattainable. At some even shorter levels all positions may become unattainable. Don't let them tell you that DATY is all they really need! Most ladies would tell you anything in bed to avoid negative sentiments. I'm fine in DATY department, but I see the difference in their reaction between when your mouth is devouring their clit and when your lower torso giving her a thrust!
If your dick is 5'5" and over, you might still be ok if you lose 0.5". But if it's under 5'5", or you atrophied to under 5'5", you better pester your doctor so he knows what's important for you not to lose, and pick yourself an implant that gives you the smallest possible chance of losing length. Because at some point the "short dick man" version of you would defeat the whole purpose of the implant.
Length is not important my ass! So why do you guys put your improved lengths in your signatures if it's not important?! Take the darn things out so nobody knows how big (or not!) your implants made you be! Unbelievable. Some people, eh

Size is overrated. I concur.
1 inch working hard dick is better than 8 inch limp dick in my opinion.

Good lord... I know you can make an argument that you want to undersize slightly if you are individually concerned about erosion for one reason or another, but for a "high volume" surgeon to have an M.O. like that, he definitely needs to be open about it so prospective patients are aware. Dude is essentially the Jeffrey Dahmer of penis surgeons, and I guarantee he is not alone. At least we can do our best with online reviews, etc. Did I miss the name of the practice... who is it?
By the way, I cannot believe I was today years old when I learned the DATY acronym

For a lot of us guys, we cant help it. We do care about dick size. My wife likes my size and girth. So for her pleasure alone, i dont wanna lose size.
Became bionic 3/2026. Hakky - rigicon infla10ax 23 cm (22+1 rte). Chronic ed - tried pills, ved, bimix/trimix. Had mild venous leak on doppler. Took the plunge when ultrasound showed fibrosis and i knew it was only a matter of time before i needed one

Then you better finetune your fisting skills dude, because you sure wouldn't be able to have sex as in "sex" sex. You wouldn't be able to penetrate the skinniest female on earth with a 1 incher man. Probably not even with a 2 incher. You guaranteed to have serious issues even with 3", in fact even with 4". It might be the hardest dick you ever had but good luck finding it. Better call Sherlock.

A smaller penis doesn't mean you've lost your penis or your ability to enjoy sex.
* Sexual satisfaction: Penis size alone doesn't determine sexual satisfaction. Arousal, intimacy, communication, and technique matter too.
* Self-worth: Your penis size doesn't determine your masculinity or value as a person.
* However: It's also understandable that someone might feel upset about having a smaller penis, especially if they experience erectile dysfunction, penile shortening, or anxiety about their appearance.
I think the post makes a good point: people can acknowledge that size matters to them personally without treating a smaller penis as if they've lost everything.
The goal shouldn't necessarily be to stop caring about size completely, but to stop letting it control your happiness.
