Advice on post-op bathroom situations

Postby Bearskin777 » Sun Aug 30, 2026 4:22 pm

So... yeah, bathroom advice for the first few post-op days. I'm curious about peeing with whatever percentage of an erection I'm given after the implant goes in. I've had a knee replacement (no pee issues, hand held urinal by the bed first week or two plenty of stool softeners due to the pain meds). I've had a prostate resection (with a catheter for almost a week, then the hand held urinal and stool softeners). With my dick bandaged and at some degree of up, I'm guess rolling over and sticking it into the hand held is the easiest thing? But what about having to take a dump once the pain med issues are out of the way? It's not going in towards the water, so again - hand held or just mop up the floor, or... is it more or less same-old-same-old? Sorry if this is indelicate, but these are things I want to know before it's time to deal with them. I get my Titan 10/20 and my husband goes in 2 weeks later, so we're going to overlap a bit.

The way I’ve felt with my multiple implants is yes, use the urinal when urinating. If I needed to poop I would use urinal first and then set and poop. If I felt urge to pee again would just stand up and use urinal again. I generally use a fleet enema on a regular basis anyway but used them every time to help stuff move. Sure beats the straining. Sometimes I will refill it 2-3 times before going poop. Fill all you can take and let it rip. Been my saving grace thru my surgeries. I also reuse them multiple times just rinse really good after ea use.

Thanks Rider. Enemas are not a problem, and they make great sense for this.

Stool softeners: yes! You don’t want to be constipated. Being partially inflated post-op can be a challenge at times. When sitting on the toilet, it is nearly impossible to point your dick down. Here’s what I did: sit on the toilet, put your dick in your handheld urinal and hold it close so that any pee goes in the urinal and drains into the toilet bowl. Then you might have some personal clean up, but nothing went on the floor.

I bought a couple of cheap hospital-style plastic urinals, and used them to pee into for the first days, when I simply couldn’t get a good steady stream that didn’t go everywhere and couldn’t sit to pee because I was too erect to point down into the bowl. That worked well for me. I was lucky in that my surgeon only inflates to 30% post-op and starts you cycling within a week. No idea what I would have done if I was inflated to 60% for six weeks.

Thanks ElbowRoom! We have a couple of the urinals. We started keeping them in both cars during COVID and especially after my prostate issues. When ya gotta go, ya gotta go! Since Hakky's doing mine too, I can probably assume I'll have the same set up and timeframe.

I only took opioid pain killers briefly and didn't need any stool softeners. But taking a piss was a challenge for 6 weeks.
My surgeon leaves everyone at least 30% erect for that period. It doesn't sound much but in fact was basically a full on boner (albeit shorter than pre op at that stage). Just not as hard as my implant can get when fully pumped. I was pissing to the sides and making a mess in the bathroom.
Hand held urinals will work if you have them. I didn't and simply bought a wide mouthed one litre water bottle from my local supermarket for a few dollars. That worked a treat but it has to have a very wide opening. I also used it when sitting to take a crap as my dick was pointing straight ahead and slightly up. Similar to others I often pee'd first then again afterwards. You will work out the most suitable techniques for yourself as you go.

Thanks LGX! Yeah, in the past I've only done the painkillers a couple of days then switch to OTC ibuprofen or Tylenol. Knee surgery pain took a little longer to get past. Sounds like we're pretty well set up, and luckily the toilet's only a few steps from the bed.
