Hi Dan,

Poll can change any day with new votes. But so far until today. Only 71% of people love the implant. The rest do not love it.

This can be a language difference or maybe a design innacuracy in the poll. But in English "it's ok" doesn't mean that you like it.

For example if I ask you if a girl attractive and you answer "she's OK" it doesn't mean that she's attractive.

Basically "it's ok" means "so-so" to me. But maybe better if this option didn't exist in the poll to make things more clear.

Anyway, the poll is not scientific and represents only the very small small amount of men with penile implant and most of them, that are happy and satisfied, are anyway not here on FT to complain about whatever issues, they live their lives, fuck and forget about ED.

Truth is, until now, only 71% love the implant. Whoever wants to get an implant installed needs to have this in mind. Obviously you are part of this 71% but you must accept not everyone has the same experience as you.

Very happy. 9/10. Gets better every week. Things are still dealing and I'm about to be at the 6 month mark. It's subtle things. In the first few months I had a really difficult time wearing jeans because the material is so stiff and would rub against me uncomfortably. Now, it's basically no issue. Maybe has something to do with the nerve regeneration around the subcoronal incision. It's amazing to feel that I have my life back.

I have a real sex life again. For the first time since age 20. And no pumps, no tubes, no reservoir to worry about. I'm ready all the time and it's given me so much confidence. It's easy to conceal. I don't have any problems in public. Basically everything is great. I almost can't believe it.

I'm still on my antidepressant but I think that's because I'm just genetically predisposed to that. For the record, I love Wellbutrin. Gives you drive if you don't have it because of depression. Makes it easier to enjoy life and not hate yourself, if you're deficient in dopamine like me (and my Russian bloodline). But — the implant fixed one of the biggest things in my life that was causing even more depression on top of what I'd have simply as a result of having my genes.

I wish I did it sooner, because if I did it years ago it might have been fully covered by my insurance at the time. I paid out of pocket. No regrets. But if I ever need a revision (knock on wood) I'm going to make sure that it's at least partly covered by my insurance plan.

That is really good to read that you are so happy with the malleable. Who did your malleable implant? and do you have good natural engorgement?

What you say about tubes and pumps is true. I honestly hate the connection tubes and the pump in my scrotum so much, maybe it is because of placement but i find the pump very uncomfortable as it sticks out of my scrotum (it is not on the same level as the testicles), and the connection tubing goes up my shaft and is palpable. Just not having that in itself would be a great upgrade.

Dr. Laurence Levine did my implant. Amazing doctor, doesn't really get enough attention on this forum but he's not the best marketer compared to guys like Hakky and Clavell who have big YouTube presences. I have very good natural engorgement, which surprised me given everything that everyone has said about the malleable. I still have hard-ons with my malleable hard-on. But even without that, I still think this thing would be a massive confidence booster. December 2024 marks for me the start of the beginning of my new life.

Well the small sample size of feedback i have so far kind of matches the quoted satisfaction rates, around that 85% - 95%0 happy.

The side effect of reduced ability to ejaculate worries me a bit. I already take SSRI's for depression and it's already kind of hard to finish with PIV. Who knows though I guess

Aussie, by ejaculation, do you mean orgasm? or do you mean tybehe sperm actually coming out of your penis?
I know it is possible to orgasm without ejaculating and vice versa.

Do you already have an implant? if so, which one?

Regarding satisfaction rates, this survey so far is showing that about 30% of people are not very happy with their implant (only 70% say they love it). To me this is a more realistic number than the claimed "90%+" by doctors and manufacturers.

I meant i cant orgasm, i believe it's called Anorgasmia, it's a common side effect of SSRI's unfortunately

I don't have an implant yet, i have my first consult with a high volume implanter here in Australia next month, i won't be able to do anything about it until April next as i have to wait for my insurance waiting period. I guess it gives me time to think about things and maybe do some more testing.

With the Poll, in hindsight i wished i had maybe worded it all differently. Like some of people that have posted here have mentioned, it doesn't factor in the age of the implantee, amount time that they have the implant, the type of implant they went with(IPP or MPP?). Theres also a good argument for the idea that the people on this forum don't make up a true representation of satisfaction rates, as in a lot of people come here because they have problems whilst a lot of guys that are happy are just out there living there life.

I also wish we could see who voted for what, unfortunately that wasn't an option when creating the poll

The poll gave you a starting point and refined the questions you still have.

Take that new knowledge and PM guys you’d like more specifics from. Ask them if they can talk with you via WhatsApp or text or video chat.

I had a bunch of conversations like that in the year or so prior to getting my implant.

Have a consultation appointment with the implant surgeon(s) you can choose from. Ask them if they have prior patients that are willing to talk with future patients about their experience. My surgeon’s office gave me a list of phone numbers and those conversations were helpful as well.

This is very well written. Pretty much summs up all my concerns. It definetly is a different story when you got implanted young.
I'm seriously considering a malleable for the reliability and peace of mind, but there are other concerns with a malleable for young guys (if you believe some surgeons) like tissue atrophy.

I guess there is no certainty with any kind of implant, we just have to follow our best judgement and deal with it.

It would be interesting to differentiate between younger and more senior patients.

I feel like everybody over 50 is overjoyed like a child from the penile implant while it is more the younger guys who struggle - maybe because they had some residual erectile function, maybe because they need more revisions over life time.

In my opinion, young men's dissatisfaction stems from two major thoughts.

First, the decades ahead in which they must sustain a career and family—essentially life itself—while living with the anxiety of complications that could render their penises ‘end stage’ (a term used by urologists to describe a penis where no further implant is possible)—a very real possibility after repeated revisions. This would not only halt intimacy but disrupt their entire lives. A career could come to a standstill as the overwhelming psychological burden reaches no joke suicidal levels. Children, possibly still in kindergarten, would be caught in a painful limbo—leaving is not an option, yet being fully present for them feels impossible. A wife, inevitably faced with such circumstances, might cheat or at the very least wish to. Even those who choose single life will be dreaded by the fact that "typical life" would be hard and full of anxiety.
On the other hand , a retired old man with fullfiled career, money/insurance , grandkids who sometimes are old enough to be able to sustain themselves , and a wife who's less demanding should absolutely be delighted by a bonus on top of his fullfiled life in general, sexual life and even fullfiled fantasies long ago sometimes....especially when completion of average life span is around the corner or have already surpassed it.

And I'm talking the averages here...I don't want a politically correct youngster telling me he doesn't have the slightest anxiety or a grandpa who's running the country and having a nympho wife telling me he's living the same fear as a youngster would....or that wise freak who would tell accident could happen anytime...a time bomb straped to your belt in your 20s/30s is a whole different game than 70s/80s....it needs serious attention and critical thinking.


Secondly, the frustration of having gone bionic while many men three times their age or sometimes quadraple can fuck without a problem...not to mention their friends/colleagues...

These are 2 major thoughts that make young men dread penile implants...mostly questioning their reliability rather than being ungrateful for their presence.

Studies mostly show 85-95% satisfaction rates...cool..but let's not forget that mean age for the subjects in these studies are 60s....not 50s..not 40s...let alone 20s/30s...and the fact that these numbers assess satisfaction mostly 1 year post op and no study asses it years post implantation especially post revisions.....I wouldn't be surprised if that number is half for youngsters...


P.s I'm excluding in this comparison old men who had ED since young age

AussieGuy81, I think the poll was a good effort and generated good discussion. I agree with you that there's 'selection bias' in that a higher percentage of guys are likely here looking for answers to problems, than guys just wanting to share that everything's great. Regardless, with something like 25K implants annually, the number of poll respondents is nowhere near a statistically significant sample.
One other thought about the poll. I would think a lot of the difference between "it's great" and "it's ok" has to do with quality of sex life. If a guy has a good sex life and lots of opportunity to enjoy it -- it's more likely great. If a guy's sex life sucks -- it's more likely just ok.

As someone who was implanted at 40, I would tell a younger guy that if he’s perfectly comfortable with blue pills or Trimix to stick with it. Neither of those were an option for me, so I had to go the implant route. It definitely takes some adjusting to: it complicates spontaneity a bit, but gets the job done. The base, at least for the LGX, can be wobbly. I got all my length back, plus a little more with engorgement, so that’s good; but I did lose a bit of girth, so that’s sucks. I would also say that it has some slight cosmetic issues, but nothing a chick would notice during sex.

I must say this: most important to the implant is AROUSAL and BLOOD FLOW. Correct those and you should be fine. A pumped up implant is a pumped up flaccid dick! You have to get the juices flowing.
