Glad you are healing well and hope you have a speedy recovery. Did you have a drain placed during your revision this time? If so, for how many days?

Im glad you are healing well!

Im curious if your penis feels/looks the same as before the infection, or if anything changed? Do you still get the same engorgement you used to have before revision?

Yes. I’ve had a drain every surgery I’ve had. I think Clavell uses drains with any revision. I was sent home wrapped like a mummy and drain in on Wednesday and then Saturday morning I removed all wrap and also the drain myself at home. When I removed the wrap and drain I had almost zero swelling and had only been getting about 15-18cc of fluid per 24 hours ea day out of the drain reservoir.Only had one small bruise about the size of a quarter on my scrotum otherwise none.

Look and feel is normal so far. I’m just 11 days out today. Infection only showed at incision site before revision and explantation. I’m already seeing and feeling a little engorgement when I get stimulated but it’s not very pleasant at this point. Makes the glans ache a little. Trying to avoid this for next couple weeks but very difficult when you’ve only had sex twice In last 7 months! Lol.

Thank you Rider1400. That’s one thing I missed and wish I had one. I thought I was required to visit the clinic again to get the drain removed (not possible on Saturday!) and hence didn’t request one. Good to know that you were able to remove them yourself with no hiccups.

I was a bit nervous about it the first time but remembered having it removed on my original implant 4 years earlier so insisted to the Dr I wouldn’t have any problems removing it.
Just cut the single stitch that’s holding it in place and slow and steadily pull it out. Seems like 16” but actually about 6-7”. lol. Cleaned area really good with alcohol prep pads and put some liquid skin on incision. Within a few days it’s good not even sore.

Day 13 update. Had a bit of a scare last few days. Incision had a spot about a 1/4” long that apparently didn’t heal up correctly and started bleeding when I would put my dick up during the day. Started watching it closely and eventually text my Dr Wednesday afternoon. He immediately ask for pics. Sent pics and he was concerned and called in another two weeks of antibiotics. Also told me to start just letting it hang or putting it down while wearing pants so as to not put tension on the incision. This contradicts earlier instructions but totally agree with reasoning behind it. Skin is not red around it and is NOT having any puss or Clear fluids coming out of it like it did with an infection in past. Also started a special antibiotic ointment that he called in specially for bacterial infections. Already this morning it’s looking much better so think it’s just a small spot that had scar tissue that didn’t want to grow back together. It’s very hard to stay positive and not get out of control worried when there’s something not just right after the year I’ve had! Looking good for now. Next 2-3 weeks will tell and then I can start trying to wear this thing out.

Hi Rider. Just to make you feel better. I also had a similar situation and it was not an infection. My scrotum opened and it turns out it was just a poor suture job in my opinion (often the doctor does not close the wound, it's one of the assistants that works with them). In any case, when that happened it was red as you mentioned but there was no pus. As i remember i kept putting povidone on it, steri strips as well to keep the wound closed as much as possible. It fully closed after a few weeks.

But just so you don't panic. An open wound doesn't always mean an infection. I wish you a speedy recovery!
