That's normal. It's healing. Keep up the ice routine, lay down and rest. The first week you're gonna be questioning your decision.

Per my instructions I’m supposed to pull down on the pump in my scrotum every time I urinate. Trying to figure out how to do this when there is still a lot of swelling. Should I wait until swelling goes down to pull on the pump?

That's a question for your doctor.
My thought is if it causes pain, don't do it.

That's very normal but I understand your concern. 5 days is very early in your recovery. You're at the "WTF have I done?" stage. It will get better eventually but massive swelling, bruising and discomfort are unfortunately the price most of us pay for a 100% reliable fully functioning dick. Trust me it will be worth it in the end, but it can sometimes be challenging in the first 6 to 8 weeks for many. Use ice as needed and stay ahead of the pain with appropriate meds rather than chase it when it hits. Hang in there brother, you can do this.

hand in there brother, you don't have to start pulling on anything for a while. ice for a long while, enjoy the recovery, each day will be better than the last.

Be gentle with this! I got too aggressive doing this and got a little internal test that led to a huge hematoma and swollen/black balls. Resolved okay but was uncomfortable and looked scary. Just a gentle little pull is all that’s required, don’t be like me! :D

Heading to my 1 week follow up appointment tomorrow. Still have a lot of swelling/bruising on my shaft and scrotum. I read that a lot of guys don’t have this much swelling 1 week in.

No way I can cycle yet. I believe my cycling appointment is 6 weeks from my surgery date. Hopefully no swelling by then.

Not regretting my decision. Just getting sick of the swelling and discomfort.

Allin320, the first part of the journey is tough. I just followed my doctors protocol. I asked him the same question about pulling down on the pump because I still had a lot of swelling and it hurt down there just touching my ball sac. He told me just to gently pull down what I could, to make sure that it’s not getting stuck at the top of your scrotum. I could barely get two fingers on the pump. When I went back for my followup, he said I did a good job! Yay! lol
At 6 weeks, when I got cycling training, everything still hurt down there. They had me deflate it and pump it back up as much as I could, I think I got in about 10 pumps. Then they had me find the deflate button again and deflate before going home.
Allin320, it will be worth it brother, to have a working dick again where you can satisfy your partner and yourself.
Just hang in there,

Had my first follow up appointment today with the surgeon. He said everything looks good. No infection. I did ask him what size implant he put in all he said was 23 cm. He said I had a little extra internal just cause I’m a little on the heavy side. Not sure if 23 cm is average below average or above average?
